The Staying Free Podcast

In part 2 of my conversation with author, activist, and founder of Architects for Social Housing - Simon Elmer, we confront one of the most urgent and controversial questions facing Britain today - mass immigration.
We explore the economic, political, and ideological forces driving mass immigration, and examine how legal frameworks and government institutions are being reshaped in dangerous ways. Are we seeing the rise of a two-tier society and a deliberate dismantling of a culture? If so, what are the consequences for sovereignty, justice, and the very idea of Britishness?
Our conversation doesn’t shy away from the most difficult topics: the role of Islam in modern Britain, the impact of “woke” ideology on law and governance, and the growing sense of alienation among those who feel their homeland slipping away. Is civil conflict inevitable, or can a new generation find the courage and means to resist what many see as an existential threat?
This is a raw, unfiltered dialogue about identity, power, and the future of the UK - a conversation for anyone willing to grapple with uncomfortable realities about a nation and a people under threat of "Great Replacement".

What if the housing crisis isn’t a natural disaster, but a carefully manufactured reality?

Following on from my last show, in this episode I engaged in an impromptu debate with John Hankey, revolving mainly around money and the perception of value.
We go deep into the fundamental nature of money, power, and control. At the core, we debate what 'fiat money' truly means and how it affects politics, economics and society at large. We clash over the role of central banking, gold, whether economies should be built on scarcity or on what people actually need, and, crucially, whether you can even separate scarcity from need.
But beyond economics, this conversation is about power—who wields it, who benefits from it, and how it shapes the world around us. This one is a real collision of perspectives, and whether you agree, disagree, or find yourself somewhere in between, this debate will push you to think deeper about the very foundations of money, value, and control.

In this solo episode, I dive into a topic I’ve been wrestling with recently - how we so often chase spiritual fulfilment in the wrong places. It’s something I’ve noticed in myself repeatedly, whether through my obsession with curating the perfect music playlist, my need to experience everything in travel, or the way I’ve thrown myself wholeheartedly into work and other pursuits. Each time, it felt like I was looking for something deeper, something meaningful, but in places where it could never really be found.
I reflect on the idea of idolatry—turning material things or experiences into false gods—and how this theme shows up in the teachings of Christianity and other philosophies, like Buddhism’s emphasis on non-attachment. Why are we so drawn to seeking spiritual satisfaction in things that ultimately leave us unfulfilled? Is this a flaw in human nature or a challenge by God for us to reject the temptations of the material and instead be guided by something greater?
This episode is a short and sweet. It’s a reminder to myself - and maybe to you as well - that true spiritual fulfilment won’t be found in the material. Instead, it requires us to shift our focus toward the immaterial, toward the source, toward God. I hope these musings resonate with you as much as they’ve helped me work through my own questions.
